Representatives of the Hungarian IT Security sphere united to create an independent forum that represents the interest of all role players and users of the market. The Day of IT Securty (ITBN) has become much more than that: the expo is a place for innovations and new products to announce, the event hosts the introduction of the first opinions and statements of important sector organizations and authoritoties of the country. Everyone who matters is part of the event now: IT Security experts, auditors, CSOs, vendors and their represnetatives, organisation decision makers, consultants, distributors, financial and company managers and IT procurement professionals nearly 2000 attendees.

ITBN project started at the end of 2004. At the first ITBN in 2005 the number of the attendees and the market role players opinion validated the importance of such an event. The next ITBN in 2006 proved that the event has its share in the Hungarian event market offering and also defined its way confirming its goals. ITBN 2007 showed a real mirror to the market, all major role players were supporting the association. The number of attendees has grown to 800. The ITBN 2008 introduced the idea and the purple shield logo of security awarness in the Hungarian IT Security sphere. Built around that idea the conference has managed to increase to a record of 1000 attendees. The project team of ITBN was formed and has been operational since then in the same form. In 2009 the event took another big step forward and moved from MOM Park Cinema hosting the event for many years to Cinema City Arena the biggest movie theatre in Budapest to give more place to the growing crowd of exhibitors and attendees. ITBN introduced its own development Event Monitor using the latest RFID technology to track movement around the conference, supporting 2D Datamatrix helping networking on the event, fully electronic registration and program book. In 2010 ITBN has extended to 2 days and has reached nearly 2000 attendees. Peter Hustinx the Data Commissioner of the European Union was speaker at the event as well as the famous Hungarian inventor Ernő Rubik. A new award was introduced in 2010 namely the ITBN Security Award that has become the recognition of extraordinary accomplisment of market players and professionals.
